Purple Tuesday, the leading global social movement dedicated to enhancing the customer experience for disabled people and their families, is back with a series of exciting events across the UK and beyond. Taking place annually, Purple Tuesday brings together businesses, community groups, and other organizations to raise awareness and drive meaningful improvements in accessibility, making a difference every day of the year.

A day of celebration and awareness
On 12 November, shopping centres, businesses, and community groups across the UK joined forces to celebrate Purple Tuesday. From local markets to high-street brands, everyone took part in showcasing their commitment to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all customers. Events and activities were designed to raise awareness about the importance of accessibility, with the ultimate goal of improving the customer experience for disabled individuals and their families.
As a founding partner to Purple Tuesday Andrew Wallace, Holly Addison and Vanessa Wintle-Thorpe joined the Purple Tuesday team to watch a special production on the iconic Piccadilly Lights. The display not only celebrated the progress made but also served as a call to action for more businesses to join the movement and continue the journey towards full accessibility.
In Hong Kong, Mariam Farooq and Simple Kan partnered with the Sensational Foundation to host a multi-industry showcase by Manulife, MTR Corporation Limited, JLL, HSBC, and the Equal Opportunities Commission to learn about how these firms are fostering a more inclusive and accessible workplace.

Join the movement
With 1 in 5 people living with a disability and 80% having a disabled friend or relative, the need for accessible spaces and services is more important than ever. Purple Tuesday was created to address this by inspiring businesses to make meaningful, practical changes that enhance the customer experience for disabled individuals.
This year, the focus is on celebrating local organizations that excel in accessibility, setting an example for others to follow. By joining the movement, businesses can make simple but impactful adjustments that create a more inclusive environment for everyone—not just on Purple Tuesday, but every day of the year.
