Sabbatical Diaries Week Four: Rosie Gibson returns to the UK!

Rosie’s Sabbatical Diaries, Week 4 – Rosies final week as she says goodbye to South Africa!

It’s time for my final sabbatical diary.

Having returned to the UK from Cape Town, we were required to isolate at home in London for 10 days, whilst taking PCR tests.

I’ve been enjoying a very relaxing week at home; I have decorated the house for Christmas, done many home workouts, caught up with family and friends over FaceTime and made excellent progress on a jigsaw puzzle.

I’ve even made a Christmas wreath for the front door! Whilst it isn’t how I expected to be spending my final week of sabbatical, it’s given me a chance to really catch up on all the sleep and life admin that sometimes falls by the wayside. A real benefit is that our kitchen has never been cleaner!

Reflecting on my sabbatical now, I am so grateful to Leathwaite for offering such a great perk after 5 years in the organisation. It feels like I have had a real chance to turn off and step away from the virtual office; I am now feeling rejuvenated and raring to get back to work. I am really also looking forward to seeing all my colleagues again and hearing about all the news I have missed over the past month!
