Guest Speakers

Jeannette Lichner

Jeannette is a Non-Executive Director who has served on private sector boards as well as on the Local Trust charity board and the board of her alma mater, the University of Virginia. She has also served in the public sector as a previous Non-Executive Director of the Financial Conduct Authority and as a current Non-Executive Director of the Information Commissioner’s Office. She has chaired and served on numerous committees including: People, Remuneration, Audit, Risk, ESG and organisation specific committees. In addition to her ICO role, she is currently Chair of Elucidate GmBh, a Berlin based regulatory technology firm, and Chair of Square 4, a regulatory consulting firm. 

She combines her Non-Executive roles with teaching leadership and governance at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership where she is a Senior Associate and providing executive mentoring/coaching services to clients. 

She is an active Companion Member of the Chartered Management Institute and a Sustainability Champion, most notably through her membership in Chapter Zero and as a Senior Advisor to The Sustainability Board.

Prior to her portfolio career Jeannette spent more than 30 years in the financial services industry in executive roles and as a consultant.  Throughout her career she has been involved with start-up companies across a diverse range of industries. 

Ronan Dunne

Ronan Dunne is the independent Chairman of the Board of Six Nations Rugby, the newly formed body overseeing the commercial and marketing operations for the Six Nations championships as well as the Autumn Nations series. He is a non executive director of Marks & Spencer plc, the leading UK retailer. 

Ronan provides strategic advice to a range of companies in the telecoms and technology sector and was most recently strategic advisor to the CEO of Verizon Communications, the leading US telecoms provider. 

As an executive he served as executive vice president and CEO of Verizon Consumer Group and group president of Verizon Wireless. During his time at Verizon he helped define a new era with the introduction of 5G and was responsible for providing voice, data, and video products and services to more than 120 million consumers every day.

Before joining Verizon, Ronan was CEO of Telefónica UK (O2), the leading UK wireless operator and one of the UK’s most admired brands and held senior positions in banking and in the corporate sector.

Ronan has been involved with some of the leading consumer brands and has built his career on harnessing technology and data driven insight to deliver growth through exceptional customer outcomes. 

CP Duggal

CP has been a Non-Executive Director at FTSE 100 energy company Centrica for a year now bringing digital, data, AI, CRM and Tech platform skills to their board.

CP’s primary executive work experience is in Financial Services. He worked for 20 years at American Express in various senior roles – the last of which was leading the company-wide digital and analytics organisation to enable growth, efficiency, and innovation globally. His experience includes managing digital / mobile channels and technology platforms across the customer lifecycle, applications of AI and Data Science across wide-ranging business applications, operational excellence and managing fraud risk.

In his last executive role, CP was the Chief Digital and Analytics Officer for Burberry plc and a member of its Executive Committee. He was responsible for transforming e-commerce and omni-channel strategy globally, accelerating customer relationship management focus and leveraging analytics across the company.

Emma Woods

Emma is an experienced Board Director and business leader, working across a diverse portfolio of brands. She sits as a Non-Exec on the Board of Huel and also Great Portland Estates, and Chairs both Ancient and Brave, the fast-growing PE backed UK wellness business, and of Tortilla plc, the UK’s largest burrito brand. 

Emma’s career to date has seen a pattern of working on international brands and businesses with potential for positive health and societal impact. After a solid consumer and marketing grounding at Unilever (17 years on both food and wellness brands), Emma went on to lead the marketing of major leisure and hospitality businesses Pizza Express, Merlin Entertainments and, latterly, Wagamama where she was also CEO.

Emma is a committed champion of D+I (the development of women to the C suite is a particular passion) and of creating cultures where entrepreneurship can thrive and be sustained.
