Leathwaite is proud to join forces Trees for Cities for the day in London.

Last week members of Leathwaite spent the day with Trees for Cities maintaining a group of trees previously planted by the Trees for Cities team around Silvertown, London. Members of Leathwaite took responsibility for planting wildflower around the base of each of the trees, with the aim of increasing canopy cover to help clean the air for local residents.

The trees and wildflower will help support habitats and food for urban wildlife and bring splashes of colour to the estate throughout the seasons.

Throughout the day, the Leathwaite team helped maintain over 30 trees!

Trees for Cities is the only independent charity working on a global scale focused entirely on planting urban trees, inspiring children to grow and eat good food, while providing volunteering opportunities to bring people together.
