Leathwaite’s Katie Hevey leads on partnership with Ridi, the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative.

Leathwaite has become the latest RIDI 100 partner. The partnership enables inclusive recruiters to have year-round association with RIDI and accelerate their Disability Confident journey. Leathwaite joins a network of recruitment and staffing providers that are truly committed to driving greater disability inclusion across the UK.

Established in 2011, RIDI is a not-for-profit organisation that is working to remove the barriers that disabled individuals face when seeking employment. Recruitment organisations who wish to achieve RIDI 100 status must currently hold a minimum Disability Confident Level 1 status, or be working towards it.

Ridi 100 Partnership:

Kate Headley, RIDI Chair commented:

“RIDI 100 partners have a leading role to play in creating a disability confident recruitment industry, enabling recruiters to source disabled talent and provide a positive recruitment experience for disabled job seekers. As for so many, 2020 has had a major impact for disabled job seekers. For some, technology has increased accessibility to work however for others this experience has been isolating and debilitating. Businesses such as Leathwaite who recognise the immense value of disability inclusion to employers and job seekers have a central role to play”

Katie Hevey, Consultant at Leathwaite added:

“When I was introduced to RIDI at the beginning of this year and heard about the vital work Kate and the team are leading to promote diversity and inclusion within the workplace, I knew that this was something both myself and the team at Leathwaite are passionate about and could actively contribute to.

As a senior executive search and interim business we have a responsibility to ensure we create opportunities for our clients to make inclusive hiring decisions. We can do this by building best practices and by becoming disability-confident ourselves, and in turn, help our clients to make decisions which are inclusive of disabled leaders.

We are proud to be members of RIDI and look forward to championing disability inclusion in recruitment.”

Katie Hevey, Practice Lead – Data & Analytics, Executive Interim:

The Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) has one purpose: to break down the barriers faced by the millions of disabled people who are entering or progressing through the job market. RIDI believes more needs to be done to build disability confidence into recruitment and employment strategies and campaigns actively to achieve this.
