London: On Wednesday 2nd November Leathwaite hosted the company’s 2016 InsurTech Talent Event at the organisation’s head office 47 King William Street, Equitable House, London EC4R 9AF.

Our event discussed key topics that are influencing talent attraction and retention within insurance, including:

“What impact is InsurTech having within the current talent landscape?”
“What advantages can InsurTech talent bring to your organisation?”
“What are the likely talent implications, 2017 and beyond?”

The event featured Sabine VanderLinden, InsurTech Strategic Advisor:

Ms. Sabine VanderLinden is the Managing Director at Startupbootcamp InsurTech. She has been Global Head of Value Propositions at SSP Holdings Limited since June 2011. Ms. VanderLinden has unique range of experience having an in-depth knowledge of general insurance, strategic consulting and business development through previous roles with Lloyd’s, IBM, FICO and Chordiant.

She was the Worldwide Director for Insurance Solutions at Pegasystems, a Client Partner at FICO between February 2007 to June 2008, Industry Solutions Principal Consulting Lead at IBM UK Limited, Financial Services Senior Consultant at IBM Strategy & Change Consulting, Regulatory Officer at Lloyd’s of London.

In addition, Sabeen was joined by Shân Millie on the guest speaker panel:

Shân is a corporate innovation specialist. She led the business transformation of Insurance Times (2008-13) as Publishing Director, and created Innovation & Disruption, the most successful event and content programme of its type for UK General Insurance in 2015/16. She founded Bright Blue Hare in May 2016 to help teams & organisations apply self-disruption for growth.

Shân works with clients, including insurance firms, to devise and deliver business, marketing and content strategies that re-engineer relationships with customers, networks and partners. Her client list includes Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA), Chubb and Lloyd’s of London. She is a business mentor for Startup Bootcamp’s InsurTech programme, and has recently been made the Association of British Insurer’s (ABI) very first Tech&Innovation Associate.

Our final guest speaker was Tony Cassin-Scott:

A versatile director experienced in both strategic and operationally IT, digital and change focused activities with over 20 years spent in the media industry and more recently with over five years in the healthcare and insurance industry. A passion to deliver value coupled with a diverse background in leading and managing technology, organisational change, digital initiatives and data strategy has led to a record of achievement and benefit realisation.
