Diversity

  • Improving diversity in executive positions continues to be a top priority for financial services firms including insurance, with a range of programmes widely used including returnships and flexible working. The success of these is slowly being realised as more senior women rise within finance:
    • Lara Sojka, Director of Accounting Operations at Liberty Mutual, promoted to Controller for its international business.
    • Kathryn Winup, former finance transformation lead at Aviva, promoted to CFO Digital. As the digital agenda becomes more prominent, insurers have looked to provide specific digital infrastructure support.

  • Implementing capital related regulation remains a major challenge for all banks, seeing high demand for subject matter experts in CCAR, Basel III, FRTB and BCBS 239.
