London, 16 July 2015: Leathwaite, the global executive search, interim and management consultancy business, has today announced the appointment of Martin Leuw as Non-Executive Chairman.

Martin’s role will be to chair Leathwaite’s board and support its ambitious plans for both organic and acquisitive growth. His appointment is in conjunction with the expansion of Leathwaite’s established suite of services, including executive search, interim placement and market intelligence, into management consulting. This move, announced earlier this month, was a direct response to the changing needs of Leathwaite’s clients and the financial services industry as a whole. The diversification of a complementary set of client solutions leverages off Leathwaite’s position as a global leader in executive search for the infrastructure areas.

Martin joins the Leathwaite board, with a long and successful track record of achieving growth across a range of sectors. A serial entrepreneur, he is best known for leading the growth of IRIS Software from £9m to £120m revenue and from £30m to £500m enterprise value. Martin is also currently Chairman of Clearswift, a global cyber security software business, an active private investor and an Enterprise Fellow of the Prince’s Trust.

Martin Phillips, partner at Leathwaite said: “We are delighted to be bringing Martin’s expertise into the business as Non-Executive Chairman. He has exceptional experience in growing businesses and this, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, means he will be able to support the board as well as the wider company in enabling Leathwaite to develop as a stronger business through an informed growth strategy.”

Martin Leuw added: “I’m very excited for the opportunity to support Leathwaite’s growth as Non-Executive Chairman. Leathwaite is responding to a noticeable shift in the financial services industry, being brought about by significant changes to the way firms work, think and hire. I’ve been hugely impressed by the expertise of the team and their ambition for Leathwaite to become a leading global player in executive search and value added services. I’m looking forward to contributing to this growth.”
