Amy is a director leading the US CIO and COO practice at Leathwaite.

Amy joined Leathwaite’s London office in 2010, before relocating to Hong Kong in 2012 to lead the CIO practice. In 2015 she relocated once again, this time to New York where she specializes in appointing global, regional and functional heads of operations and technology, spanning AI/machine learning, blockchain, cloud, data, engineering, information security and procurement, with a clear focus on diversity.

Amy graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2003 with an honours degree in Economics.

Here's our 90 second interview with Amy.....

Thinking back to when you joined Leathwaite, what first attracted you to the company?

The people, and especially Marty who I first interviewed with. He was super inspiring (and scary!) and I knew straight away I could learn a lot from him.

What gets you out of the bed in the morning?

The fear of… losing my mojo and ending up in prison… seriously!!! This is the hardest question to answer for me, but truthfully, I get out of bed in order to conquer THE FEAR…!

What is your biggest professional achievement at Leathwaite to date?

Finding the correct subway exit that leads you directly next door to our office in New York (there are a LOT of exits!). Seriously, this was a real challenge set by the partners!

What three words that best describe your role at Leathwaite?

Problem-solving, unicorn-hunting, purple-squirrels …one and the same really!

If you could switch jobs with someone (anyone!), who would it be?

Sandra Bullock.

Tell me about some of the people you’ve had the chance to meet working at Leathwaite

Two of my best mates – one fellow employee and one client.

What advice would you give people starting out in the corporate or Financial services/Technology industry?

For all your tech capabilities and qualifications, culture is king. It’s so important to not just ride the wave but to become personally invested, contribute and shape a firm’s culture.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

When the going gets tough, apply the pressure…apply pressure…apply pressure. You’ll come out the other side (I promise!).

What’s your favorite line from a film?

“Bend and snap” – Legally Blonde, of course!

What is your guilty pleasure?

Taylor Swift.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I had a number 1 hit single in the UK pop charts aged 8!

Which one of Leathwaite’s internal values do you most relate to?

Success is the by-product of great work and celebrate success.

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?

I was laughing so hard the other day that I ordered my juice, paid for my juice and walked out laughing all the way back to my desk….at which point I realized I had no juice, hence a tear. The reason for such laughter -the email Kate Huggins had sent me with the proposed outfits for our company trip to Ibiza. Stay tuned.
