Case Study:

Leathwaite was brought in to secure a senior candidate for a global banking group based in North America, as part of the succession plan for its Chief Accounting Officer.

The successful candidate required technical depth in US and international accounting principles, and a proven ability to partner with global regulators and industry bodies. They would need to match the demands and culture of a large matrix environment, leading a team of several hundred people and driving change within the organisation.

Working in partnership with the client, we devised a list of global target organisations, focused on major financial services and public accounting firms. We harnessed our international network to craft a shortlist of financial officers located in cities across North America, Europe and Asia.

After a rigorous interview and benchmark process, the successful candidate relocated from Continental Europe to the US. They joined as Deputy to the incumbent for a handover period, before being appointed as Chief Accounting Officer upon their predecessor’s retirement.
